WHV Russia – Insurance

WHV in Russia: a real or illusory agreement?

In 2009 Russia and France signed a PVT(Working Holiday Programme)agreement.
The PVT France Russia allows young people between the ages of 18 and 30 to go on holiday to Russia and at the same time gives the opportunity to work. For Russia this PVT visa is valid for 4 months, throughout the territory but it can be extended for up to a year in some cases.

The documents required to obtain this visa are:

  • a valid passport
  • a round-trip baller
  • an extract from a French bank account
  • a medical certificate
  • a PVT insurance certificate
  • a clean criminal record

Please note that your medical certificate should contain negative test scores for HIV, leprosy, tuberculosis, syphilis, chlamydia and chancroid and a negative result for substance abuse.
It should be noted that these procedures may take some time. For example, it takes 2 weeks to get a clean criminal record and one week for a drug test.

After obtaining these documents, they must be translated into Russian by a sworn translator and presented to the Russian Embassy in Paris (address: 40-50 Boulevard Lannes, 75016 Paris).

The response time to your request is 1 month from the filing date.

Finally, it is important to note that to date only a few people have been allowed to visit Russia on the PVT visa.
