In Asia, monsoons are common! Winter ones, summer ones…. It’s never easy to know when and where to go.
In your home country, it’s cold, it’s gray? Go to the Maldivesfrom January to April. These four months are the most beautiful. But be careful the period to avoid is from May to November.
For the summer it’s not the best, especially in July! The monsoon arrives as early as June, often with torrential rainfall and severe thunderstorms. This period ends at the end of September in the Northwest and the end of October in the Northeast.
Winter, from mid-November to mid-March, remains the best season to travel and enjoy India. But you should still avoid destinations where it is too cold such as Kashmir, Ladakh, Sikkim, and northern Assam.
Promote the period from January to April, as it is for the Maldives. This is the sunniest and least rainy period. Sri Lanka experiences a monsoon during the period from May to the end of August on the coast.
The rainy season lasts from May to June to October. The showers are short and violent. Often the sky remains cloudy and the atmosphere heavy. The warm season (March to May) is particularly pleasant in the cooler mountainous regions.
In Thailand,the period difference is less well determined. The monsoon arrives in June until October, but it is still possible to enjoy long hours of sunshine. But if you want to be sure to sunbathe and avoid the greyness of the country of origin prefer the months of January to April.
The summer monsoon begins in May and ends in early November in the north of the country and at the end of November in the South and the capital. During this monsoon, the rains fall in abundance. In April and May, the atmosphere is heavy.
December and January are the best times to travel to Cambodia.
The rainy season starts in May and July – August is the period when the rain is strongest. Temperatures are mild, and sometimes cool from November to April.
The best time to visit Vietnam is from May to October, although occasionally there is grey and foggy weather.
The best time to go to Malaysiais during the summer: from May to September. On the other hand, from November to February, it is better to avoid.
The months of December and January are to be preferred, the island is gaining ground on the sea.
The high heat is quite limited in the long term. In May, the Southwest monsoon begins, bringing very high temperatures, sunshine, but also severe thunderstorms. It ends in September. Prefer the coastline and avoid central Singapore.
Indonesia is not that simple! The dry season runs from May to June, with June to September being the most favourable months in the southern and eastern islands of the archipelago. The best time to enjoy Bali while avoiding the flow of tourists is the months of May, September and October. In Sumatra and Borneo, it rains all year round with a slight slowdown between June and September. The heaviest rains are recorded between December and March, during the winter monsoon from the sea.
In Taiwan, the summer monsoon takes place from April to September. The mountains are the hardest hit. The best period is October to March. And from April to September this is the period to avoid.
To visit the archipelago during the relatively dry season, prefer the months between December and February. During this period, however, the eastern coasts of Luzon, Samar and northern Mindanao were heavily watered by the monsoon. The months of March to May are quite dry and warm in the same areas. The period to avoid includes the months of June to October.
