What an excursion for a Caribbean cruise

In the Caribbean Sea, the Caribbean is a large archipelago in the shape of a 3,500 km long arc with the islands of the Lesser Antilles and The Greater Antilles. Going on a caribbean and Caribbean cruise allows you to discover the beauty of these stretches of land with their beaches and wild nature.

Which airlines to enjoy a Caribbean-Caribbean cruise with?

The best time to cruise the Caribbean and the Caribbean is between December and May during the dry season. MSC Cruises and Costa Cruises take you to some of the Caribbean’s top destinations. The Italian shipowner Costa Cruises takes travellers to the Caribbean aboard the Costa Magica, among others. From Fort-de-France, passengers discover Pointe-à-Pitre, Tobago, Saint George, Barbados and St Lucia. With a capacity of 3,470 passengers, the Costa Magica particularly pampers families with its Squok Club and Teen’s zone, dedicated to children and teenagers.

Since 1987, MSC Cruises has also served a few destinations around the Caribbean. MSC Cruises is one of the largest shipping companies in Europe. The 12 ships that make up its fleet can accommodate 1554 to 3,500 passengers. Its ship MSC Preziosa is one of its most beautiful boats with its artistic decoration. Its atrium is marked by a Swarovski crystal staircase. On board the MSC Preziosa, on a Caribbean-Caribbean cruise, discover Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe. On board the MSC Divina, you can also visit Nassau, Georgetown, San Juan and Philipsburg in a fortnight.

Places to discover on a Caribbean-Caribbean cruise

On a Caribbean and Caribbean cruise, schedule a stop in Philipsburg, south of the island of Saint Martin in the Lesser Antilles. Lazy lovers discover the beach of Orient Bay, one of the most beautiful in Saint Martin. This beach is also frequented by the jet-set. A cultural tour is also on the way to downtown Philipsburg. Visit the museum to discover the history of the island. The site exhibits old photos and local handicrafts.

To discover the archipelago of Guadeloupe, make a stop in Pointe-à-Pitre, west of the island of Grande-Terre. Several excursions are possible from the capital such as a visit to the Carbet Falls. On the island of Lower Earth, in the Guadeloupe National Park, the site has three waterfalls, the highest of which flows to 120 m. From Pointe-à-Pitre, you can also join Domaine de Séverin, a distillery renowned for its 50-degree agricultural white rum. This distillery also retains a vintage paddle wheel.

San Juan, the island capital of Puerto Rico, is also one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful stops in the Greater Antilles. Arriving in San Juan, stroll through its historic centre to admire the colourful buildings of the colonial era. On the outskirts of Old San Juan, visit Castillo San Felipe del Morro, a 16th century fort listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The fort has walls more than 5 m thick and offers a beautiful view of San Juan from the top of its 6 floors. A Caribbean-Caribbean cruise, also in the Greater Antilles, also leads to La Romana, east of the Dominican Republic. Arriving in La Romana, reach the village of Bayahibe with its beautiful beaches, then enjoy excursions to Saona Island where diving enthusiasts swim with sharks, manatees, dolphins and whales.
