WHV Insurance for Chile

Certain European nationals such as French nationals can apply for WHV for 12 months. This visa cannot be renewed. The cost of the visa is about 115 euros and the deadline to obtain is 2 weeks. A WHV insurance is compulsory for Chile.

The conditions to be met to take advantage of WHV in Chile

Be between the ages of 18 and 30 at the time of your application
Have a valid European passport
Have at least $2,500 in your bank account and be able to justify it
Not having already participated in the working holiday program in Chile
Fly to Chile within 90 days of obtaining a visa
Have special international WHV health insurance

Documents needed to build the file

Passport: a photocopy of the passport, the validity of which must cover your entire stay in Chile.
Form to be taken from the Chilean Embassy website to be carefully completed and attached to the file.
Motivational letter
International health insurance: You must be able to provide the Chile health insurance certificate in medical expenses, hospitalization and repatriation.
Excerpt from the criminal record,which is less than 3 months old.
Medical certificate, attesting to your good health and that you are not carrying a contagious and/or infectious disease.
Photocopy of the family booklet or a copy of the birth certificate, to verify the parents’ names.
Bank documents,you must prove that you can have at least 2,500 euros either through a bank statement or a bank certificate or with a certificate established before notary in the case of cash.
1 Photo ID, recent and in 3.5 x 4.5 cm format.

The application procedure for WHV Chile

1. Complete the form dedicated to the Chile work holiday program

Read the instructions carefully before filling out each field.
In the “Visa Type requested” field does not include the Working Holiday Program. Choose “Temporary Resident.”
In the “Reasons for Travel” field: please indicate PVT or Work Holiday Program here.

2. Build your file with the requested documents

– The PVT Chile application form printed, completed and signed
– The supporting documents and documents cited above
– Your settlement is made on the spot at the Chilean Consulate at the time of the withdrawal on the spot.

3. Send your application for WHV Chile

Your file is to be sent or to be delivered in person to the Chilean Consulate in your home country

4. Pick up your WHV visa in Chile

After acceptance, your WHV Chile visa must be personally withdrawn on site at the Chilean Consulate at the address indicated.

However, it is stated on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the quota for this PVT Chile will be limited to 200 places per year,probably to avoid the traffic jam that can be observed in Australia.
