Mandatory vaccination

A Yellow Fever vaccination is mandatory for travellers coming from infested areas

An HIV Certificate is mandatory if staying more than one year.

Recommended vaccinations

For adults, don't forget your vaccinations: Tetanus, Polio, Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, and for those people at risk: Tuberculosis, Rabies.

For children, don't forget the vaccinations: Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Tuberculosis, Measles, German Measles, Mumps, Hepatitis A & B, (1, long stay), Typhoid (1, long stay for those over 5 years old).

Local diseases

In China, you must be warned about AIDS, Amebiasis, Ascaris, Hepatitis A & B, Leishmaniasis, bilharziosis, dengue, Japanese encephalitis, Malaria, Poisonous Fish, Snakes, Scorpions, Spiders, Polio, Rabies, Sexually transmitted diseases, Tetanus, Tuberculosis, Typhoid.

When to go ?

China is a vast country with very wide-ranging climatic conditions, so a decision about when to go should be based on the regions your trip will cover and what type of weather you enjoy. Normally, the most comfortable season is early autumn (1, September to early October).

Food and drinks

No hygienic problems in restaurants and shops.  Be careful with products on market places. Avoid tap water drinkable. Better to consume local bottled water : Laoshan, plate or carbonate.

The Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, the Ming Tombs in Beijing, The Great Wall of China, the Xi"An, which was the capital city of China during numerous dynasties, the Victoria Peak,  the Star Ferry, the Nathan Road and the Repulse Bay in Hong Kong, the Shanghai Museum (1, Shanghai Bowuguan), the Li River in Guilin, the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base (1, Xiongmao Jidi) and the Wenshu Yuan Monastery in Chengdu.
