Mandatory vaccination

A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is compulsory for travellers over six months old coming from infected. The vaccination is recommended for travellers going to rural areas of the Acre States, the Amazon, Goias, Maranhao, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Para and Randonia and the Amapa and Roraima territories.

Recommended vaccinations

For adults, don't forget your vaccinations: Tetanus, Polio, Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, Meningitis A & C and for those people at risk: Tuberculosis, Rabies.

For children, don't forget the vaccinations: Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Tuberculosis, Measles, German Measles, Mumps, Hepatitis A & B, (1, long stay), Typhoid (1, long stay for those over 5 years old). Meningitis A & C (1, long stay for those over 18 months).

Local diseases

When to go ?

You can visit Brazil all year long. From December to February, it's summer time in Brazil and your travel might be a bit more expensive. But summer can also be a very festive time in Brazil.

Best places to go

The Ipanema and Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, popularized by the song "The Girl from Ipanema," the Corcovado, the Pinacoteca do Estado in  Sao Paulo, the Catedral Metropolitana, the Parque Nacional in Brasilia, the splendid churches and houses from the XVI and the XVII th century in Salvador de Bahia and of course, the Amazon river.
